Samuel Nohe Ireland is a contemporary artist, scholar, collector, and experienced museum professional and nonprofit board member. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 2025 with an MA in Photography and related artistic media. He also holds an MA in Contemporary Art from the Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York City, where he developed an in-depth understanding of the artists, movements, theories, and professional practices that have shaped contemporary art from the 1960s to the present. His thesis examined the work of the Danish artist collective Superflex through the lenses of neoliberal critique and relational aesthetics.
Ireland earned an MBA from Portland State University and a BA in History, with a minor in Art History, from the University of Arizona, graduating summa cum laude.
He spent his formative professional years at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson, where he progressed through a series of increasingly senior roles—from college intern to Director of Operations for Public Programming and ultimately Executive Director. He has also served on the museum's Board of Directors and continues to support the institution as a member of its Ambassador Council.
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert, Ireland maintains an active artistic practice and, alongside his family, works to preserve historic properties.
