Samuel Nohe Ireland is an artist, scholar, art executive with board experience, and collector. He is a 2025 graduate of the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London, where he earned an MA in Photography and related artistic media. He also holds an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City, which provides students with an in-depth understanding of the artists, art movements, theories, and professional practices that define art from the 1960s to the present. His thesis examined the work of the Danish artist collective Superflex through the lens of neoliberalism and relational aesthetics.
Mr. Ireland earned an MBA from Portland State University and a BA from the University of Arizona, where he majored in History and minored in Art History, graduating summa cum laude.
He spent his formative professional years at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Tucson, where he advanced through a series of roles—from college intern to Director of Operations for Public Programming, and ultimately to Executive Director. He has also served on the Board of Directors and remains engaged with the institution as a member of its Ambassador Council.
Born and raised in the Sonoran Desert of Tucson, Arizona, Ireland maintains an active artistic practice alongside his professional work. His interests include contemporary art, art theory, political and economic thought, and cultural discourse. His practice is grounded in observation and engagement—often expressed through photography that seeks to reveal moments of awe, humor, and wonder in everyday life.
